Master Technician

Summary

Functions as a skilled-level technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs in all areas, in addition to being specialized in particular areas of repair and who has previously worked as a B-Class general service technician.

Essential Duties
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
• Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
• Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
• Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
• Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools and events.
• Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Supervises work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
• Keeps shop area neat and clean.
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as they were received.
• Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal, state and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned.

Vehicle Detailer

Summary
 
Cleans and refurbishes new and used automobiles. Conforms to dealership and/or manufacturer specifications and time allowances.
 
Essential Duties 
• Washes vehicle exterior, cleans interior and exterior windows and wipes down doorjambs.
• Applies wax to auto body, and wipes or buffs surface.
• Vacuums interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
• Cleans upholstery, rugs and other surfaces, using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators and cleaning devices.
• Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
• Cleans engine and engine compartment with steam-cleaning equipment and various cleaning agents.
• Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which normal cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
• Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery and poor mechanical operation.
• Restores appearance of engine area, rugs and upholstery and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes and other appropriate materials.
• Uses proper eye, hand and body protection when using products that require protection.
• Fills vehicle with fuel.
• Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
• Replaces missing or defective small parts.
• Maintains showroom and stock vehicles in clean and presentable condition at all times.
• Ensures proper stickers are displayed in the vehicle's window.
• Removes all window stickers on sold vehicles.
• Keeps work area neat and clean.
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
• Other tasks as assigned. 

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
• No prior experience or training.

Business Development Rep

Job Description:
The BDC Rep (BDR) is responsible for receiving and responding to web based electronic leads, text, chats, and phone calls that result from prospects and customers visiting various Parkway of Wilmington associated websites.

The BDR will be evaluated based on performance standards that measure how many leads were converted to showroom visits and how many of those showroom visits resulted in a sale. The BDR is required to execute customer communications via email, text, telephone and face-to-face that conforms to the standards and processes put into effect by the Internet Director and Parkway of Wilmington management. A BDR must show up for work on time, per their schedule and conduct himself/herself in a manner compatible with the existing dealership culture, and general policies and procedures of Parkway of Wilmington.

Qualifications and Duties include the following:

Execute Sales Process in Accordance with Parkway of Wilmington Sales Strategies

• Be able to sell cars and trucks using email, phone, text, and social media.
• Show up for work on time and as scheduled by manager.
• Attend sales meetings for both the dealership and the internet department when required.
• Use a desktop computer for email, Lead Management Tool (LMT), web sites and MS office applications such as Word, Excel and Internet Explorer.
• Respond to Internet Leads within 20 minutes of receiving them in CRM.
• Call prospects within 20 minutes of receiving a new lead
• Set appointments with at least 30% of prospects received
• Achieve Shown-to Set Appointment conversion rate of 66.67% on leads received
• Achieve an overall Lead-to-Sales closing ratio of 11% or higher
• Attend training and complete testing requirements to become certified per manufacturers requirements
• Use Parkway of Wilmington's Lead Management systems to ensure response time to all customer inquires - email, fax or telephone - is virtually instantaneous
• Utilize authorized personalized Parkway of Wilmington email templates for communications
• When assigned by manager; register, schedule and attend Internet training and information seminars designed to learn the latest processes and techniques for automotive eBusiness

Job Summary:       The General Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance according to Volvo factory standards for labor time, Fixed Right First Time, and Customer Satisfaction/Care By Volvo goals.  The position may also entail participation in a mentoring/apprenticeship program. 

 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

 

  Thoroughly performs appropriate and necessary diagnostics to identify vehicle problem utilizing all available factory technical information and specified tools/equipment.

 Performs vehicle repair as outlined on repair order within specified time frame according to proper factory repair procedures and dealer policies.

   Reviews service write up to verify required work.

   Determines if vehicle requires any other work and immediately advises details to Service Advisor including if repairs can be completed within time promised.

 Secures needed parts from the Parts Department

 Strives to exceed customer expectations for repair.

 Ensures service repair notes/records are clear and well documented.

 Road Tests vehicles to ensure repairs are properly completed.

 Ensures the cleanliness of customer vehicles.

 Ensures warranty claims are properly documented and submitted in a timely manner.

  Assists Service Advisors as needed in communicating with customers about
vehicle repairs.

 Assist other technicians as needed.

 Participate in mentoring/apprentice program

 Attend factory training classes to stay current with new vehicle systems; attend technical training classes, keep up to date on industry developments/information, and seek professional certifications.

 Comply with federal (ie, OSHA), state, and local regulations governing safety and hazardous waste disposal.

 Maintain a clean and neat work area.

 Use shop tools with care, and take time to keep
them organized, clean and properly maintained. 

 Job Specifications: 

 

Education and Experience(Knowledge):

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ASE Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Volvo service preferred
  • Valid Driver's License and good driving record
  • 3-5 years experience in auto repair; Volvo service experience preferred but not required.

Competencies/Skills:

  • Ability to read and comprehend diagnostic service information including wiring diagrams.
  • Computer Skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to use service shop equipment.

Work Environment :

  • Employee must have full set of personal tools
  • Employee must be able to operate shop equipment and power tools.
  • Employee will be exposed to noise, dust, wide temperature variances (cold to hot) and will be required to lift heavy parts and equipment up to 75lbs

Parts Counter Person

The parts counter person assists walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest related parts, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.  Pull purchased parts from stock.

Answer phone calls in a responsive and polite manner, providing price quotes and other information. Assist outside sales reps with their orders ensuring their employee number is used when so doing. Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. ADP experience in an automotive parts department is a must. A professional personal appearance must be present and maintained at all times. The ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at one time, and to main a pleasant manner is essential.

Lot Porter

You will work together with our current Lot Porter.   You will be responsible for the appearance of the dealership lots including the vehicles.
